Download AirMap from your app store, it seems up to date with Cascadian regulations. That will show you legal places. As far as good places goes, no idea, I don't know MTL.
Stay away from the city, get out to the Laurentians, that would be very scenic. Transport Canada is zapping lots of people in Quebec for breaking the rules... so be aware. AirMap is a must for ensuring you're not in restricted airspace. Most of Montreal is restricted because of 6 airports, 4 controlled airspaces, 13 heliports, 5 seaplane bases, and other special use airspace. Download Flightradar24 as well as airmap, so when you are out in the country you can check to see how many commercial aircraft are overhead. Fly safe!
